What to do if your kitchen has defects

Step by step: accepting a kitchen, what to photograph, when to call an expert and which documents to keep.

First steps

Do not repair defects before photographing them and having an inspection. First collect the documents, take photos and videos, list the defects and compare the kitchen with the contract, sketch and specification.

  • keep the contract, sketch, design and specification;
  • take an overview of the kitchen and close-ups of defects;
  • record gaps, misalignment, chips, swelling and hardware problems;
  • do not replace hinges, fronts or the countertop before inspection;
  • prepare the correspondence with the manufacturer.
