What is included
Checks of cabinet installation, hanging, adjustment, fixings, gaps, level, abutments, trim, plinth and assembly errors.
The inspection takes account of the order documents: the contract, specification, sketch, measurement sheet, design, agreed materials, records and correspondence.
What is checked
- manufacturing quality of kitchen furniture;
- quality of assembly and installation;
- fronts, cabinet bodies, countertop, hardware and fixings;
- gaps, misalignment, level, geometry and abutments;
- presence of chips, cracks, swelling, delamination and scratches;
- conformity with the contract, sketch, design and specification;
- feasibility and cost of rectifying defects.
What to provide
- the contract and appendices;
- sketch, design and measurement sheet;
- specification of materials and hardware;
- acceptance record or record of concerns;
- photos and videos of defects;
- correspondence with the manufacturer or seller;
- the previous report, if a review is required.
Pricing
from 30 000 ₽. The final price depends on the kitchen composition, number of defects, need for a site visit, document volume, urgency and form of the final report.
Component manufacture and kitchen installation require different levels of assessment
An uneven gap between fronts may result from component geometry, cabinet position, hardware adjustment or a combination of these factors. During inspection, it is therefore useful to describe the component itself, its fixing and the position of the installed module in sequence. Correcting one gap by adjustment does not automatically explain all the concerns about the kitchen.
Measurements are compared with the agreed design and available documentation for the particular hardware. Mechanisms differ in purpose, design and application conditions. A universal gap value without identifying the joint and comparison basis may be unsuitable for verification.
Preparing an installed kitchen for inspection
- Mark the modules and location of each concern on the sketch.
- Provide the final agreed design version and records of subsequent changes.
- State any adjustments, tightening of fixings and replacement of components already carried out.
- Keep photographs taken before appliances and trim were installed and accessible components were covered.
Access to fixings and joints is agreed in advance; loading a cabinet with uncertain fixing to demonstrate a defect is dangerous. Conclusions should distinguish an observed deviation, its probable mechanism and the technically necessary correction. If wall, floor or services positions are material to installation, those conditions are also recorded, rather than attributing every deviation solely to the product.
